Holiday Policy

WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Heritage Village Master Community Association, Inc. is empowered to govern the affairs of the Homeowners Association pursuant to Article V, Sections 11-14.
WHEREAS, there is a need to adopt specific guidelines on the installation of Christmas and other holiday decorations (including lawn ornaments) on private and townhomes within the Heritage Village community.
WHEREAS, it is the intent that this resolution shall be applicable to all Owners, tenants, guests, invitees or any others. This resolution shall remain in effect until otherwise rescinded, modified, or amended by a majority of the Board of Directors.
The Architectural Control Policy of the Heritage Village Association (CC&R Article X, Section 2) states that “No construction, alteration, addition, modification, decoration, redecoration or reconstruction of an improvement shall be commenced or maintained without approval of the HVMCA Architectural Committee.”
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Directors hereby adopts the following Holiday Decoration Policy:
The Architectural Committee, however, offers a blanket approval for the installation of Holiday Decorations within the Heritage Village Community provided the following conditions are met:
  • Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanza decorations may be installed beginning the day after Thanksgiving and must be removed no later than the following January 31.
  • Decorations for other holidays, such as Halloween and Easter, may be installed two weeks prior to the holiday. They must be removed no later than one week following the holiday.
  • Homeowners not removing decorations within the designated period will receive a notice of violation and will be fined.
  • Any homeowner in disagreement with this policy and who has received a fine may request, in writing, a Board hearing.
